list of web comic strips that I like to read

Summary:this is what goes at the top of the site

"NSFW" means "Not Safe For Work", but really, are any of these safe for work? Should you be reading comics at work? Shouldn't you be working on that TPS report?

Topical

  • xkcd - A webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math, and language. Randall Monroe's epic stick figure web comic. This is truly the best on the web.
Sudo make me a sandwich
  • Saturday morning breakfast cereal -- Zack Weiner's classic covering science, beliefs, politicsl, human behaviour, and skepticism occasionally NSFW
  • Calamities of Nature -- a bunch of animals discuss heady topics of science, politics, human behaviour, and skepticism
  • Tree Lobsters -- you can't prove they don't exist! makes fun of religion, anti-science
  • Jesus and Mo - a comic about Jesus and Mohammed, frequently showing how silly religion is
  • Surviving the World -- not really a comic, it's a photograph of a guy at a blackboard with the joke written out. Quite funny.

Character Driven

  • Questionble Content - a comic about a bunch of "indie" kids NSFW
  • Sinfest -- about living life with god, jesus, the devil, the devil's minions, girls, and pretty much everything. NSFW
  • Player vs. Player - about the gaming culture
  • /usr/bin/w00t -- Occasionally NSFW (no longer updating)
  • User Friendly -- life in tech support
  • Irregular Webcomic by Callahans irregular DMM. Very punny, many different threads of stories running all the time, occasionally converging.
  • Sluggy Freelance -- this one has been going on for a long time. Hard to pin down, maybe Secret Agents to the Multiverse?
  • Something Positive -- a collection of friends, their lives, foibles, successes and failures. And choochoobear. Occasionally NSFW
  • The Tao of Geek -- stories about a bunch of geeks who are friends
  • Freefall - cool webcomic about a Bowman's Wolf - an artificial intelligent wolf engineer on a less-than legal space ship

Animals

Dark Comics

  • Jack -- a relentlessly intense comic about death, life, afterlife, love, fear, pain, and furries. NSFW
  • Ghastly's Ghastly Comic -- tentacle sex, very NSFW

Formulaic

  • Partially Clips -- one picture, three panels, sometimes funny
  • Red Meat -- one picture, three panels, dark, twisted, sometimes funny NSFW

Political

  • I Drew This -- political cartoon (no longer updating) NSFW
  • Flem -- a very weird political commic. VERY NSFW
Example: day after US invaded Iraq: http://flem.keenspace.com/d/20030320.html -- Note the lovely expression on the elephant's face. very NSFW (seems to be no longer updating. Last comic 19 Dec 2009)
